1. Introduction
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) set out the agreement between Lockd Future Self Storage Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) and you, the customer (“you”, “your”). By booking, paying for, or using a storage unit with us, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Storage Agreement & Payments
- All storage is provided on a rolling agreement (weekly or monthly) unless stated otherwise. In addition, specific promotions may carry their own conditions.
- Payments are collected in advance via our secure partners, Stora (booking system) and Stripe (payment processor). Therefore, you must ensure a valid payment method is maintained at all times.
- However, if payment is late or fails, access to your unit may be restricted and additional charges may apply.
- If payment remains outstanding, we may take further action, including disposal of stored goods in line with UK self-storage industry practice. As a result, reasonable costs of enforcement may be added to your account.
3. Access & Security
- Customers access their unit via our secure digital entry system. For clarity, access is personal to you and must not be shared.
- You are responsible for keeping your access codes, keys, and locks secure. Moreover, you must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.
- For safety, we operate 24/7 monitored CCTV and remote site security. Consequently, activity in common areas may be recorded.
- We may temporarily restrict access for maintenance, emergencies, or non-payment; in such cases, we will restore access as soon as reasonably possible.
4. Prohibited Items
You must not store any of the following. For example, the list includes but is not limited to:
- Flammable, explosive, or hazardous materials (e.g. fuel, fireworks, chemicals).
- Illegal goods or substances.
- Perishable food, plants, or live animals.
- Firearms, weapons, or ammunition.
- Cash, securities, or other high-value items requiring specialist insurance.
For the avoidance of doubt, we may open and inspect a unit where we reasonably suspect prohibited items are stored or where required by law.
5. Insurance & Liability
- You are responsible for insuring the contents of your unit. In addition, cover should reflect the full replacement value of your goods.
- We strongly recommend arranging insurance from the start of your booking. Otherwise, your goods may be at risk.
- Lockd Future Self Storage Ltd is not liable for loss, theft, or damage unless directly caused by our proven negligence. Furthermore, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
6. Customer Responsibilities
- Keep your unit locked at all times when unattended; additionally, use a robust lock suitable for self storage.
- Do not cause damage to the facility or create a nuisance to others. If damage occurs, you may be liable for reasonable repair costs.
- Report any issues with your unit, lock, or security system promptly so we can assist. Timely reporting helps protect your goods.
- Ensure your contact details remain up to date in your Stora account; otherwise, we may be unable to reach you about urgent matters.
7. Termination & Cancellation
- You may cancel your storage agreement with 7 days’ written notice via your Stora account or by contacting us. After notice expires, all charges stop provided the unit is vacated and left in good condition.
- Conversely, we may terminate the agreement if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, or store prohibited items.
- On termination, remove your belongings and leave the unit clean and undamaged. Otherwise, cleaning or disposal fees may be charged.
8. Storage Licence Agreement
In addition to these Terms, all customers must enter into our full Storage Licence Agreement when booking a unit. This document governs your legal rights and responsibilities in detail, including lien rights, late-payment procedures, and termination rules. These Terms are for general guidance only and do not replace the full Storage Licence Agreement.
9. Our Rights
- We may review and update these Terms at any time; however, changes will not apply retrospectively to completed periods of storage.
- If required by law, emergency, or safety concerns, we may enter your unit without notice. Where practicable, we will inform you afterwards.
- We reserve the right to move your goods to another suitable unit if necessary; in that event, we will take reasonable care to protect your items.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Accordingly, any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
